Adam Widelka – From Small Town To Big City

Adam Widelka is a native of Poland and lived in Bochnia, a town of 30,000 people for 25 years. It is one of the oldest cites in Lesser Poland is known for its salt mine, which is the oldest functioning on in Europe.

Bochnia Is Rich In History

The first finding of this town was in a letter from 1198. The letter contained information about where in Aymar the Monk, the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, confirmed a donation by local magnate Mikora Gryfit. The gift was o the monastery of the Order of the Holy Sepulchre in Miechów.

In 1248, the discovery of rock salt was made from a major occurrence at the site of the current mine. City privileges were granted in 1248, called the Magdeburg rights by Bolesław V the Chaste.

Education in Krakow

Adam Widelka attended Cracow University of Economics where he received his Master’s Degree. The University is located in Poland’s second largest cities, Krakow. It dates back to the 7th century, making it one of Poland’s oldest cities. From 1038 to 1569, Krakow was Poland’s capital of the Crown of the Kingdom of Poland.

The campus is situated on the Vistula River, in the Lesser Poland region. When it comes to academics, Kraków is one of the leading centres for Poland. It offers an academic, artistic and cultural life and is an important economic hub for Poland.
